Tamil Nadu Centre of Excellence for Advanced Manufacturing - TANCAM successfully inaugurated its Institutional Spoke Centre at PSNA College of Engineering and Technology, Dindigul on 29th April 2026, marking a significant milestone in encouraging rural student development across Tier 2 & Tier 3 cities.
We are delighted to announce the inauguration of the TANCAM Spoke Centre at Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science (HITS) on 20th September 2025.
The centre was inaugurated by Thiru. Sandeep Nanduri, IAS, Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO). His visionary leadership has been instrumental in strengthening Tamil Nadu’s industrial and innovation ecosystem. His continued support and guidance enable initiatives like TANCAM to bridge academia, industry, startups, and government.
We recently had the privilege of hosting a Hackathon for the talented students from the University of East London, as directed by Guidance Tamil Nadu. The event, held on 13/06/2024 at TIDEL PARK, Chennai, was a remarkable collaboration between TANCAM and Guidance Tamil Nadu.

An Awareness Session on Defence Product Development for MSMEs in Coimbatore is scheduled on 30th June 2023 from 3.30 PM to 6.30 PM in Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore. The program is jointly organized by the Kumaraguru Centre for Industrial Research and Innovation (KC.IRI), the COSIEMA CBE, Coimbatore SIDCO Industrial Estate Manufacturer's Welfare Association and the Tamil Nadu Centre of Excellence for Advanced Manufacturing - TANCAM.
Olir, a one-day startup meet, organised by StartupTN and TIDCO on April 13, 2023 enabled 250 startups from the state to explore ways to accelerate the commercialisation of their product ideas. A Seminar titled “Industry 4.0 for MSMEs” was conducted jointly by the FaMe TN and Indo-American Chamber of Commerce, India The seminar, organised on January 11, 2023, is a part of the FaMe TN’s initiative on making the MSMEs of Tamil Nadu Industry 4.0 ready with the aim to build confidence and scale up to Industry 4.0 technologies like IoT systems and meet the OEM’s requirements.

COSIEMA COE – TANCAM Spoke Centre successfully conducted a one-day workshop on Advanced Manufacturing Technologies for 60 Production Department students from PSG College of Technology, following their 15-day Cluster Training. The program provided practical exposure to advanced manufacturing practices, introduced TANCAM training programs, and created awareness on TN IMPACT and the TNWISE Hackathon for women students. Students also visited the COSIEMA COE to explore real-time engineering services and interact with industrial experts, making the session a valuable industry–academia learning experience.
TANCAM conducted an academic outreach workshop at Sri Sowdambika Polytechnic College on 11.12.2025, engaging a total of 440 Polytechnic students from the Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineering departments. On 21st April 2025, Tamil Nadu Centre of Excellence for Advanced Manufacturing - TANCAM had the privilege of hosting 30+ passionate faculty members from Dr. Dharmambal Government Polytechnic College for Women, Taramani, for a power-packed one-day workshop at our Centre of Excellence in Chennai.
As part of the Technical Fest YUGAM 2025 at Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT) on February 4, 2025, TANCAM successfully conducted a one-day workshop on "3D Experience Unleashed: Mastering CATIA." The session provided hands-on training in CATIA on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, focusing on real-world applications and design best practices. A total of 40 participants, including 24 external and 16 internal attendees, actively engaged in the workshop.
Through this initiative, TANCAM continues to bridge the gap between academia and industry, equipping students with cutting-edge product design and engineering skills to shape the future of advanced manufacturing.

On 25th August 2025, the Tamil Nadu Centre of Excellence for Advanced Manufacturing (TANCAM) team had the privilege of participating in the Orientation Program organized by the Department of Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering, Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science.
As part of our mission to empower the next generation of students and innovators, Mr. Akbar Sheriff and Mr. Vignesh Kumar from Tamil Nadu Centre of Excellence for Advanced Manufacturing - TANCAM delivered an insightful session to the students of @Ammaippar Polytechnic College, Virudhunagar.
On behalf of TANCAM, Dr. Vijayshankar Asokan had an insightful meeting on June 3, 2025, with LEG Thüringen (Thuringia International, The Thuringian Agency for Skilled Personnel Marketing – ThAFF) in Erfurt, Germany. The discussions centered around collaborative opportunities in skilled workforce training, establishing a German language training partnership, and exploring avenues for future cooperation between Thuringia and Tamil Nadu through TANCAM.
On July 12th, TANCAM had the honor of conducting a Leadership Exposure Visit for the Arangur Balar Panchayat Representatives from Cuddalore District. This inspiring event was designed to foster leadership skills, share best practices, and strengthen community ties.
During the visit, the TANCAM team showcased our state-of-the-art facilities and demonstrated how TANCAM supports advanced manufacturing with the help of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform by Dassault Systèmes. Our team explained how this innovative platform enables us to deliver cutting-edge solutions and drive efficiency in manufacturing processes. At TANCAM, we believe in the power of leadership and community empowerment. This visit is a testament to our commitment to nurturing future leaders and driving sustainable development at the grassroots level.

As a component of the NAAN MUDHALVAN training program, students enrolled in the "Product Design and Manufacturing 3D Surface Modelling" course had the opportunity to participate in industrial visits. These visits were organized by the Tamil Nadu Centre of Excellence for Advanced Manufacturing (TANCAM) to complement the theoretical training with real-world exposure to industries.
Followed by the Faculty Development Program, TANCAM trainers played a vital role in imparting practical knowledge to students enrolled in the "Product Design and Manufacturing 3D Surface Modelling" course. On NAAN MUDHALVAN Day, TANCAM trainers visited each college and conducted training sessions using the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform by Dassault Systèmes.
The Faculty Development Program on "Product Design and Manufacturing- 3D Surface Modelling" was conducted at the Madras Institute of Technology, Chennai. In Coimbatore, The Faculty Development Program was conducted at the PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research, Coimbatore.
Tamil Nadu Skill Development (TNSDC) has initiated a program "NAAN MUDHALVAN," aimed at empowering the youth through training and upskilling. One of the key training partners for this program is the Tamil Nadu Centre of Excellence for Advanced Manufacturing (TANCAM). TANCAM's involvement has been instrumental in providing training to both college faculties and students.

The Fourth edition of TNWISE 2025 (Tamil Nadu Women in Science and Engineering) Hackathon, hosted by TANCAM, took place on March 28, 2025, at Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT), Coimbatore. With 380+ teams, 1000+ participants, and 380+ projects from 120+ institutions, the event provided an incredible platform for women in STEM to drive innovation in smart mobility and sustainability. This year’s theme, Transportation and Mobility, focused on developing smart transportation solutions, urban mobility enhancements, and sustainable innovations to address critical challenges in the sector.

On 06.05.2025, TANCAM successfully organized a Campus Interview Drive at Government ITI, Nagapattinam, aimed at connecting skilled youth with employment opportunities in the manufacturing and allied industries. The event witnessed the participation of 300 students, out of which 165 were shortlisted by participating companies, marking a significant milestone in our continuous effort to bridge the gap between industry requirements and vocational talent.
